The Fortress: Mueller Communications
Interior design is storytelling — and for this boutique communications firm, the story begins with the very bones of the building. Located in the heart of historic Brewer’s Hill, this former F. Mayer Boot Company factory offered century-old character and rich architectural details that we knew had to take center stage.
Our design approach honored the past while introducing a modern sensibility that speaks to the energy and vision of the client. We embraced the original industrial elements — exposed brick, wood beams, aged textures — and let them shine, instead of covering them up.
Throughout the office, a thoughtful mix of modern and vintage furnishings tells a layered story — one of tradition and creativity. Large windows usher in natural light, softening the industrial lines and inviting a sense of warmth. Natural elements like lush greenery and warm woods help create a sense of home — even in a commercial setting — because we believe that every great space should feel lived in, comfortable, and deeply human.
This space bridges the past and present, creating an environment that not only reflects the brand’s story but also inspires the work that happens within its walls. It’s a one-of-a-kind office designed to feel as dynamic and original as the people who inhabit it.
